Academic classes

아카데믹 수업 - ACADEMIC READING & WRITING

The gap between good English and academic English is bigger than most students expect

Being fluent in English is not the same as being able to write and think academically in English. UK and US universities — and increasingly, institutions in Singapore, Canada, and Australia —expect students to argue, analyse, and structure ideas in very specific ways. These classes are designed to build exactly those skills.

All classes are delivered online via Zoom or Google Meet - taught by Cambridge, Harvard, or Oxford graduate tutors from the 마이에듀프렙 team, with some sessions taught by Marianne personally. Small class sizes mean real attention, real feedback, and real progress.

수업 형태 - CLASS FORMATS

Two ways to learn

Choose the format that suits your schedule and goals — or combine both.

1-on-1 sessions

개인 맞춤 수업

Fully tailored to your current level, your specific goals, and your timeline. Sessions are booked flexibly - when you need them, at a pace that works for you. Ideal for students with upcoming application deadlines or specific skills to develop quickly.

Small group courses

집중 당 단기 과정

Intensive short courses run with a small group of students at a similar level. Learning alongside peers adds an important dimension — discussion, debate, and peer feedback are all part of developing genuine academic thinking. Course schedules are announced periodically.

Academic vocabulary & register

The vocabulary, tone, and register that academic writing demands - and how it differs from conversational English, formal business writing, or general test preparation.

Reading comprehension & analysis

Critical thinking & discussion

Developing the ability to question assumptions, consider multiple perspectives, and engage in the
kind of intellectual discussion that tutorials and seminars at UK universities demand.

Common Questions

Do I need to be at a high level of English to join?

Not necessarily. We work with students from a range of levels — what matters more is motivation and willingness to engage. In the initial consultation, we assess your current level and recommend the most appropriate format and starting point for you.

How is this different from a regular English tutoring class?

Very different. This is not grammar practice or conversational English. These classes are specifically designed to develop the academic reading and writing skills that universities abroad look for - taught by people who studied and succeeded in exactly those environments. The focus is on thinking and arguing in English at a high level, not on everyday communication.

Can I take classes alongside the essay editing service?

Yes — and for many students this is the most effective combination. Classes build the underlying skills; the editing service refines a specific piece of writing for a specific application. They complement each other well.

How much do classes cost?

Pricing varies depending on whether you choose 1-on-1 sessions or a group course, and the duration of your programme. Please get in touch via KakaoTalk • we will explain all options clearly before any commitment.
